Inbox

Instagram DM threads, with human takeover. Studio, then Inbox.

Requires a connected Instagram account. Nothing appears until someone messages you.

How it works

Conversations list on the left, messages on the right. The first page polls for new messages, and older history loads as you scroll.

Type a reply, click send, it goes.

Your click is the approval

The inbox sends exactly the text you typed, on your click. It never generates a reply, and it has no path to any AI service.

Who sent what is recorded, so on a shared account you can see which member replied.

The 24 hour window

Meta's rule, enforced server side

You can only reply within 24 hours of the person's last message to you. The window is anchored on their most recent incoming message, not on when the conversation started.

Outside it, sending is blocked. This is Meta's policy and there is no setting that changes it.

The 7 day extension for human agents is not available yet, pending Meta approval.

Practically: check the inbox daily. A conversation you leave for two days is one you can no longer answer.

Unread badge

The sidebar shows unread conversations. It clears as you read them.

Dry run

Replies may not actually send

The inbox shares a dry-run switch with Automations, and it defaults to on.

While it is on, sending logs what it would have sent and delivers nothing. The message appears in the thread as if sent.

If replies seem to vanish, that is the first thing to check.

Contacts

Everyone who messages you becomes a contact automatically. Tag them there.

Automating replies

Common questions can be answered by keyword automations, so you only handle what actually needs you. See Automations.

Automations send text you wrote and activated. They never generate a reply.
