Drafts and the composer

A draft is the actual content. Open one from any Planning view and it slides in as an editor.

Statuses

StatusYou can
draftEdit freely, schedule (which approves it for you), reject
awaiting_approvalAI-written, waiting on a permitted human's first click: approve, schedule directly, or reject
approvedSchedule, reject, mark posted
rejectedUnreject, back to draft

"Scheduled" and "published" are shown once a publication exists; they are not separate stored statuses. See Core concepts.

Creating one

Promote an idea from the Library. Optionally AI-written from the idea, in your brand's voice.

New draft from the top bar, when you already know what you want to say.

From research: a hook, a script, or a saved post in Inspiration can each write a draft directly.

Repurpose an existing approved draft into other formats.

Editing

Write it. Pick the pillar, which is what makes per-pillar performance analysis possible later. Voice comes from the brand, not from anything picked on the draft.

A carousel's identity is picked on the carousel itself, in its own editor. See Carousels.

Always edit the AI draft

Generated drafts are a starting point. The ones that land are the ones you rewrote. If you find yourself making the same correction repeatedly, fix the voice instead of the draft.

Carousels

A carousel draft holds slides rather than one body. Attach an existing carousel from your media library through the Media button's Carousels tab, or start a fresh one with the Design button: pick a template, pick an identity, write the slides.

A carousel is its own library asset, so editing it here edits it everywhere it is attached.

Rendering is automatic: approving the draft renders every slide, and publishing renders anything that changed since. There is no render step to remember, though the editor has a Render button if you want to see the exact final picture before you approve.

Video

Video uploads directly from your browser to storage, in parts, never through the app server. Once uploaded it is probed and checked against each target platform's requirements before it can be scheduled. See Video uploads.

Repurpose

Turns one approved post into several assets: a carousel, a short-form video script, a shorter caption for Instagram, and optionally a translation.

Everything it produces is a new draft at status draft. Nothing is scheduled and nothing is posted.

Approving

Nothing publishes without a human approving it first. For a permitted human, clicking Schedule or Post now IS that approval, in the same click. An AI-written draft nobody has clicked on yet sits awaiting_approval with its own Approve button. See Approve and schedule.

Rejecting

Kills a draft, from draft, approved or scheduled. Reversible with Unreject, which returns it to draft.

Rejecting a scheduled draft does not automatically clear its slots. Skip those in the Queue.

Mark posted

Moves a draft straight to published without publishing anything.

It is for content you posted by hand. It records reality so the draft stops sitting in your queue and so metrics can match against it later.

Per-network captions

One approved draft can go to several platforms, and each has different limits: 300 characters on Bluesky, 3,000 on LinkedIn. Pick a channel and its own tab opens for editing; if the idea it came from already had a version written for that network, the tab starts filled with that version, and Back to global drops it back to the shared text.

Saving the draft, even without scheduling, keeps whatever you typed in each channel's own tab, so a per-network edit is never lost between opening a draft and coming back to schedule it later.

That is why one draft can produce several slots with different text. See Platform support for the limits.
