What Postlyra is
Postlyra runs a social media operation end to end, for one person. Research ideas worth publishing, write and schedule the content, handle the Instagram conversations that come back, and prepare thoughtful replies in other people's communities. One workspace instead of five tabs.
The product is organised into four areas, which map to the sections in the sidebar:
| Area | What it does |
|---|---|
| Content | Plan, write, approve, schedule and publish. Carousels, video, metrics |
| Research | Find ideas: track channels, spot outlier videos, build hooks and scripts |
| Engage | Instagram DMs: a shared inbox, contacts, and keyword automations |
| Outreach | Join conversations elsewhere: drafted comments on other people's posts |
The rule that shapes everything
Nothing publishes without you approving it
Every generated post, every drafted comment, every mined idea lands in a review queue. A human approves it in Studio before anything goes out.
There is no setting that disables this. There is no API call and no MCP tool that can approve or publish on your behalf. An AI agent that tells you it "posted" something is wrong.
There are two narrow exceptions, and both are still your text on your click:
- Instagram automations send reply text you wrote, triggered by a keyword. Your approval is the moment you activate the automation, which is audited. The engine never generates text and has no path to any AI service.
- Inbox replies send exactly the text you typed, when you click send.
Outreach comments are never posted by Postlyra at all. You copy the draft and paste it yourself.
Why so strict: automated posting is how social accounts get banned. Every outbound path uses an official platform API, and nothing else. No headless browsers signed into your accounts, no unofficial endpoints.
How work flows
idea ──► draft ──► approved ──► scheduled ──► published
(human) (human) (human) (automatic)An idea is a one-line thing worth writing about. It comes from research, from the CLI mining your commits, or from you typing it in.
A draft is the actual post. Promoting an idea creates one, and it can be AI-written or written by you.
Approving is the gate. Only an approved draft can be scheduled.
Scheduling picks an account, a time and a per-network caption, creating a slot in the queue.
Publishing is the only automatic step. At the slot time, Postlyra publishes through the platform's official API.

Getting started
New here? Quickstart takes you from an empty brand to a scheduled post.
The short version of the setup order:
- Content profile — your voice and pillars. Almost everything needs this.
- Persona — who you are and who you talk to. It grounds every AI feature.
- Connect an account — nothing can publish without one.
- Posting schedule — the time slots posts go out in.
Research needs Channels first. Outreach needs Sources first. Engage needs a connected Instagram account.
Vocabulary
Brand is a workspace. Its own content, connections, queue and metrics. An account can hold several, and the number comes from your plan.
Account is the invisible billing container. It holds one subscription and owns your brands. There is no account switcher, only a brand switcher.
Studio is the app itself, at app.postlyra.com.
